I’ve been using GoodShoog for a long time and honestly wouldn’t want to go without it. I put it in my smoothies almost every day and even use it in soups and other recipes. I have a big sweet tooth, so I love getting the sweetness I want without the negative health impacts I associate with regular sugar. It’s become a staple in my kitchen, and I recommend it all the time!

I received the lovely package of shoog. I tried it in my sweet tea and I didn’t need a half of cup. Needed more like 1/4 cup. It was so good and sweet. Thank you for making this product.

The product is excellent. I am hoping that you can get the price down as I would like to give it to friends. People need to know about this product, but the price is too high. Is there a better price when ordering multiple bags?

Jackie, Thank you so much for the wonderful feedback—and especially for wanting to share GoodShoog™ with your friends! We agree that more people need to discover what rare sugars can offer. We also hear you on the price. Rare sugars are considerably more expensive than conventional sugar, particularly at our current scale, but making GoodShoog™ more affordable as we grow is very important to us. Your suggestion about better pricing when purchasing multiple bags is a great one. We're currently looking at ways to offer greater value on multi-bag purchases, and feedback like yours reinforces how important that is. Thank you for being one of our early customers and for wanting to share GoodShoog™ with others. We truly appreciate your support as we grow.

So far I like the product as it’s much like regular sugar in taste. Would like to know more about all its contents and their pros and cons. I do think the product is over priced and not sure I would reorder.

Thank you for giving GoodShoog™ a try and for sharing your feedback! We’re especially glad to hear that you’re enjoying the sugar-like taste.

GoodShoog™ is a blend of three rare sugars—trehalose, tagatose, and allulose—with a small amount of stevia. We completely understand wanting to know more about each ingredient, including both the benefits and considerations, and we’re continuing to add educational information and research to our website to help customers make informed choices (See GoodShoog™ Science on www.goodshoog.com for more information).

We also appreciate your feedback on price. Rare sugars are considerably more expensive ingredients than conventional sugar, and we know that makes GoodShoog™ a premium product. As we grow, we’re working hard to find ways to make it more affordable without compromising the ingredients or quality.

Thank you again for trying GoodShoog™ and for the thoughtful feedback—it genuinely helps us as we continue to improve.

Great tasting. Doesn’t have any weird aftertaste. I used in when I baked my apple pie. I don’t think it was quite as sweet as regular sugar but it was still sweet and I would definitely purchase again.

Very good without a strong aftertaste.

Was told there was no ‘after taste’. That was so wrong! It was very obvious that this was a sugar replacement with a very strong after taste.

Tastes just like real sugar and no gross after taste! Yay!! Sharing the news

I have been off cane sugar for more than eight years. The problem is I do like sweet and I have been using Stevia. This product is excellent. My only problem is I think it’s a little sweeter than table sugar so I have to use less, but it does the job.!!!

Finally something this good is on the market!

Four ingredients, and what each one does

Sugar does more than sweeten. It adds bulk, browning, moisture and texture. No single substitute does all four, which is why GoodShoog™ is a blend of four ingredients that each do a different job. They are listed here in the order they appear on the label, by weight.

Trehalose

The base of the blend: sweetness plus moisture retention, so baked goods stay tender instead of drying out.

Tagatose

Carries flavor, browning and texture, the part that makes a cookie look and bite like a cookie.

Allulose

Clean, sugar-like taste. Dissolves well, browns during baking, holds moisture, and contributes very few calories.

Steviol glycosides

Clean, concentrated sweetness that lifts the blend to full sugar sweetness without bitterness.

What is not in it matters just as much. No erythritol. No xylitol or maltitol. No fiber fillers. No aspartame, saccharin, sucralose or acesulfame potassium. No added cane sugar. Because there are no sugar alcohols, there is no cooling sensation, the thing that usually gives a sugar substitute away at the table.

Use it anywhere you would use sugar

Measure it cup for cup. It is formulated to be exactly as sweet as sugar, so your recipes need no adjustment. It works in cookies, cakes, muffins, brownies, quick breads, pies, cobblers and crisps, and it dissolves in coffee, tea, lemonade, smoothies, hot chocolate and protein drinks.

Very delicate recipes, and specialty candy or caramel work, may benefit from a small test batch first.

Questions, answered

Will my family notice the difference?

GoodShoog™ is formulated to be exactly as sweet as sugar and replaces it cup for cup. Because it contains no erythritol, there's no cooling sensation — the thing that usually gives a substitute away. Very delicate recipes, and specialty candy or caramel work, may need a small test batch first.

What is it made of?

Trehalose, tagatose, allulose and steviol glycosides. That's the complete list. No erythritol, no fiber fillers, no artificial sweeteners, no sugar alcohols, and no added cane sugar.

How many calories?

8 calories in a teaspoon, against 16 for table sugar. A 2 lb pouch holds about 227 teaspoons.

Is it safe for a diabetic in the family?

It's formulated with ingredients chosen to reduce glycemic impact compared with sugar, and many people managing blood sugar use it. Individual responses vary, so check with your healthcare provider about your own needs.

Will it upset anyone's stomach?

There are no sugar alcohols in GoodShoog™ — no erythritol, xylitol or maltitol — which is the usual cause of digestive trouble with sweeteners. If you're new to alternative sweeteners, start with smaller servings and build up.

Is it gluten free and vegan?

Yes to both, and it's non-GMO. It carries FDA GRAS status and is made in US facilities following strict food safety standards.

What if something's wrong with my order?

Because it's a consumable food product, we can't accept returns once an order ships. If your order arrives damaged, defective or incorrect, email support@goodshoog.com within 7 days with your order number and a photo — we'll replace it or refund you, and you don't need to send anything back.
